About Janelle

My journey into the world of mental health and social service began with a unique blend of experiences. I served as a statistician – collaborating with an Indigenous hunting and gathering tribe in India to advocate for their land rights, and a gender specialist – coordinating community development initiatives, gender-based violence prevention, and anti-human trafficking efforts. This invaluable experience ignited my passion for social justice and community empowerment.

I also had the privilege of managing a women’s shelter, where I witnessed the resilience and strength of individuals facing challenging circumstances. Further, as a professor of social service work, I had the opportunity to share my knowledge and insights with future generations of social service workers, further deepening my commitment to the field.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology, a Master’s degree in Social Work, and I am a Registered Social Worker in Ontario. With over ten years of experience in providing supportive counselling and psychotherapy, I am still as passionate as ever to offer you safe, compassionate, and inclusive spaces where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. Together, we can embark on a transformative path towards greater well-being and self-discovery.

Favourite Book: Born to Run
